Alex Ellis is a Co-Founder and Partner at Excelsior Energy Capital (www.excelsiorcapital.com), a private infrastructure fund focused on investments in North American wind and solar power plants. Alex has spent over twelve years in the renewable energy industry in various business development and project development roles. Alex most recently was Managing Director at TerraForm Power where he focused on acquisitions of large-scale operating wind and solar projects. Prior to TerraForm Power Alex was a Managing Director at SunEdison where he executed acquisitions of development-stage solar projects. Before joining SunEdison, Alex focused on power marketing, acquisitions and project development at Element Power. Alex also spent time in Washington D.C. where he was a political appointee at the World Bank and the U.S. Export-Import Bank. Right after college and before moving to Washington D.C., Alex spent almost three years in Ketchum, Idaho as a flyfishing guide. When Alex isn’t working he enjoys spending time with his three children (ages 4, 6 and 8), enjoying live music, riding his bikes, skiing up and down western mountain ranges and flyfishing for all types of fresh and saltwater species. Alex now lives in Portland but was born and raised in the suburbs around Boston, Massachusetts. Alex received his MBA from Harvard Business School and his BA from Bowdoin College.
